Data transmission

Of course, we are happy to use your print data. If you provide us with data, please follow these recommendations, because your orders will be produced more securely, faster, cheaper and in perfect quality.

Data transfer

It is possible to transfer and process the electronically created templates. However, you should additionally consider the information mentioned below.

Data transfer

You can send us the files toinfo(at)spektraldruck.de.

Data carrier format

The data should be saved on stick or CD.

File format

PC- created with the programs Corel Draw, PageMaker, Excel, Word, Photoshop, Illustrator, lnDesign, Acrobat MAC- created with the programs Free-Hand, Photoshop, Illustrator as EPS or QuarkXPress as open file or can be processed by these programs.

Trapping / Overprinting

Overfill / overprint the lighter to the darker color, both sides approx. 0.15 mm consider and create.

Halftone values/ - gradients

When creating halftone areas and gradients, please ensure that gradients only contain tone values of up to 2% in the individual colors and that there are no breaks or interruptions in the label.

Bleed

For bleed motifs, please apply a 2 mm bleed all around the format.

Fonts

If you use your own fonts or fonts that deviate from the standard, please include them on the data carrier along with the font folder and character set. After processing your order, these will be deleted from our computers.

Scanner resolution

For scans, please ensure a resolution of 300 lpi in 1:1 size. (For output sampling factor 2:1, 300 lpi, 150 dpi).

Special features

Please list any special features of the files, such as fonts used and program versions.

Program-specific special features

In the programs Free-Hand or Illustrator, please draw the format as a frame around the respective object. Define and name different types as a separate document(no 4C mode for spot colors).

Transparencies

You should be careful when dealing with transparencies. These can be written into the PDF in full handling, so that errors can occur during exposure. We can only guarantee 100% reliability in production after approval of a digital proof.

Special colors

In order to achieve an exact result when printing special colors, e.g. RAL, Pantone, or HKS colors, which at the same time allow for a more stable color management in printing, we print them separated as a special color in full tone and not as a separation in the EURO scale, if possible. We ask you to take this into account when creating the artwork.

Trapping / Overprinting

If color areas are created "seamlessly", e.g. yellow lettering in a blue field, care must be taken to avoid overfilling / overprinting, otherwise "biitzers" will occur in the print. Trapping/overprinting should always have the lighter color opposite the darker color, i.e. the lighter color is created overlapping, the darker one matching in size. The overlap should be real 0.15 mm (some programs distribute the selected overprint in half each).

Definition of the terms used

Overfilling, overprinting, over-radiation In multicolor register work, for technical reasons, the colors cannot be printed exactly matching, but differ within a small tolerance around the optimal register. To prevent these small differences from becoming visible, the colors must be minimally overlapped. This overlap is referred to as trapping, overprinting or overexposure. In this information, we use the terms trapping/overprinting.

Bleed

If the motifs are printed up to the edge of the format, they must be laid out larger on the printed sheet or web than the actual print format. The overlapping part is removed after printing by trimming or punching. This enlargement of the format is called trimming, but it is also often called trapping, which can lead to misunderstandings. The term "bleed" is used here.

Bleed

Offsetting of the printing inks against each other results in white or colored borders. The application of overprinting can help to avoid this disturbing effect, also called "bias", to a large extent.
